Just a few things to clear up from the first posting.
1) The game actually originated with the suggestion that Diff'rent Strokes would be a great Strokes cover band name. Thanks for the correction, Joach! This was followed shortly thereafter with Mr. Belvederehoof...or is it Belvedeerhoof? And believe it or not, there actually really is a Strokes cover band called Diff'rent Strokes.
2) Robin made the interesting realization that what I indeed achieved with this blog is that I basically have "become Twitter"...which half freaks me out, half makes me feel like a triumphant cyborg. In your face-book, Twitter!
3) There have been some questions about "rules" and "guidelines"...which is hilarious to think about in this context. So here goes it....having the below being said...some postings have been disqualified, including many of my postings that I hate to part with...sigh
1-No repeats- check the handy alpha sort list before posting
2- There must be a "chain of names", therefore "Buffy the Vampire SLAYER" does NOT count. Though clever, there is no evident chain of linked names...however "The West Wings", just eeks in there with a clear chain between the West Wing and Wings, by the mere addition of the "s"
3- You cannot break a chain, therefore "Kanye West Wing" does not count as the show is technically "THE West Wing". As well as Growing Pains of Being Pure at Heart (THE Pains of...)
4- Combined words/heavily altered words/break in the chain do not count, therefore "Home Impavement ", "Nickleback Kotter", "Screamin Jay Hawkwind", and "Danzig with the Stars" do not count...though all totally hilarious!
5- Phonetics are key- sadly ColumboysIIMen is out- "OH" vs "OY"
6- Only TV shows- Repo Man...Or Astro Man is AWESOME, but it's a movie + band. One day when all else is exhausted, perhaps there will be a "Son of the Game" which is for movies, and when that day comes, I've got dibs on "Mr. Big Trouble in Little China" and "Tango and Cash Money Millionaires". And maybe even a Son of the Son of the Game that is bands plus historic court cases, like James Brown vs The Board of Education, or Bon Jo-V-Wade (actually technically that last one wouldn't count)... but one can dream.
